For 37 years Cornerstones has hosted its annual Capitol Steps Benefit Performance to provide an evening of laughter, comradery, and generous community support to help ensure our most vulnerable neighbors overcome barriers to living a healthy, connected life.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, corporate partners, and donors, this year’s major fundraiser, held on January 19, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Reston, raised more than $365,000!
This one night of comedic relief, provides life-changing opportunities to families, children, and individuals struggling with homelessness, food insecurity, and poverty. On average, it costs $5,000 to move a family out of Embry Rucker Community Shelter. Proceeds from our “Empty the Shelter” campaign helps empower our shelter residents with concrete resources — such as affordable housing, healthy food, quality childcare and after-school STEAM enrichment programs, and valuable job skills to secure long-term employment.
Thank you for you generous support!
