If you are 70 ½ years old or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) of up to $100,000 to support Cornerstones’ mission each year. These donations not only support our stability-building programs but can also be a tax-efficient way to give. You avoid the income tax on the donated portion of your required minimum distribution if you are 72 (70 ½ before January 1, 2020) or older. If you’re interested in learning more about QCDs, please reach out to Development@cornerstonesva.org.
Recurring gifts provide an opportunity to stay engaged with the work that Cornerstones is doing throughout the year. To start your recurring gift on a monthly or quarterly basis, please visit this link.

Fred used to come in to Herndon Neighborhood Resource Center to ask our help with fine tuning his homework and research projects.
At that time he was working two jobs and attending night school in pursuit of an Associate's Degree in Business Administration. Today he came in to share with us that he has completed his course work and has received his degree. He was part of the commencement ceremony at Strayer University on Saturday, December 1, 2012. We are very proud of him and equally as emotional about how he worked so hard, overcame many obstacles and prevailed. The fact that he shared his greatest achievement with us is both heartwarming and humbling. He said many thanks to us and stated he was very blessed to have come through these doors. What an inspiration he is. -Courtney Cornerstones Staff Member
