Cornerstones Announces CEO Kerrie Wilson’s Retirement and Launch of National Search
Cornerstones’ Board of Directors has announced that CEO Kerrie Wilson, a passionate and visionary leader in Northern Virginia’s housing and human services community, will retire in early 2026. Kerrie shared the news with staff and partners recently, marking the beginning of a thoughtful leadership transition process.
For nearly 25 years, Kerrie has guided Cornerstones with a deep commitment to social justice, equity, and collaboration. Under her leadership, the organization has grown significantly in reach and impact—expanding access to affordable housing, supportive services, and community partnerships that empower individuals and families toward long-term stability.
“Kerrie has led Cornerstones with exceptional vision, heart, and courage,” said Andy Lacher, Chair of the Cornerstones Board of Directors. “Her impact on this community is immeasurable, and her legacy will continue to shape our work for years to come. We are incredibly grateful for her leadership and the strong foundation she has built.”

To ensure a seamless transition, Cornerstones’ Board of Directors has formed a CEO Search Committee and engaged Good Insight, an award-winning executive search firm based in the D.C. region. The search process will focus on finding a leader who shares Cornerstones’ core values and has the vision and experience to guide the organization into its next chapter of service and growth.
“It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve this community and lead an organization so deeply rooted in compassion and justice,” said Kerrie Wilson. “I am confident in Cornerstones’ future and in the incredible team and partners who will continue to advance this vital work.”
Cornerstones will soon share the full position announcement as we search for a leader with the passion and vision to lead us into our next chapter. Early interest may be sent to Cornerstones@good-insight.org. All inquiries will be kept confidential.
Cornerstones remains strong and well-positioned for the future, with a committed staff, engaged partners, and a community that believes in housing and opportunity for all. The Board and leadership team will continue to share updates in the coming months, including opportunities to celebrate Kerrie’s extraordinary legacy.
