Help Stuff the Bus on September 19!

🚌 It’s time again to Stuff the Bus!

YOU can help fight food insecurity in our community by bringing nonperishable food items or gift cards to the North County Governmental Center, 1801 Cameron Glen Drive in Reston Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.‍ ‍

Donations will support Cornerstones and the Committee for Helping Others.

For nearly 15 years, Fairfax County Stuff the Bus has brought together local grocery stores, volunteers, and community organizations to help keep neighborhood food pantries stocked.

The need remains ongoing and urgent. The March 2026 drive alone collected and distributed 11,428 pounds of food and more than $1,700 in gift cards.

Cornerstones accepts these foods (please, NO GLASS):

  • Rice - brown, wild, white

  • Cereal

  • Oatmeal

  • Peanut butter

  • Jelly

  • Quinoa

  • Chia seeds

  • Beans (dry) - black, red, kidney

  • Baked beans

  • Pasta

  • Macaroni and cheese

  • Canned fruit - fruit cocktail, peaches, pears, etc.

  • Canned vegetables - corn, green beans etc.

  • Canned meat - tuna, salmon, chicken, ham

  • Tea, coffee - regular & decaf - instant

  • Snacks - crackers, fruit & granola bars, etc.

  • Sugar

  • Honey

  • Flour (including Maseca flour)

  • Condiments - mayo, ketchup, mustard, salt, spices

  • Oil - canola, vegetable, olive

  • Milk (shelf stable) - soy, almond, oat
