Let’s Knit.

If you know me, you know I love knitting.

Knitting is the way that I, as a CEO, truly connect with people—especially my colleagues. My favorite thing to do is knit all the Cornerstones staff shirts by hand, and I've recently added a vest option to the collection to help everyone stay warm during those long strategy meetings. I firmly believe every well-executed strategic plan is stronger when discussed over a fresh skein of yarn and a perfectly timed purl stitch.

There's something special about sitting down with a pair of knitting needles and creating something that brings people together. Every stitch tells a story. Every scarf represents a relationship. Every slightly lopsided hat reminds us that perfection isn't the goal—community is. While some CEOs unwind by golfing or fishing, you'll usually find me comparing yarn weights, debating the merits of circular needles, and wondering whether our next Board meeting could benefit from a group knitting circle.

...Okay. If you've made it this far, you probably know that's not actually true.

While I appreciate a good laugh, what I really love is building stronger communities and sharing the stories of the people who make Cornerstones such a special place. This blog is where you'll find stories of hope, resilience, partnership, and impact—from families finding stable housing and children receiving the support they need to thrive, to volunteers, donors, staff, and community partners who make this work possible every day. You'll also hear about the challenges facing our community, the innovative solutions we're pursuing together, and the people whose lives are being transformed because neighbors choose to care for neighbors.

So, while this may not actually be All About Knitting, I hope you'll find that the threads running through these stories are every bit as meaningful. They're woven together by compassion, generosity, and a shared commitment to ensuring everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive.
